About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a manual medicine that involves hands-on treatment and uses many techniques such as soft tissue therapy, articulation of joints, strengthening techniques, and manipulations of the spine and joints. It is a gentle and safe manual therapy that works with the patient to restore the body to a state of natural balance.

Osteopathy differs from other manual therapies in that it treats the cause of dysfunction rather than treating just the symptoms. Osteopathy incorporates biomechanics to analyse the way the body is functioning with a condition, and looks to treat adjacent areas that are likewise affected. This is the holistic “whole body” philosophy that osteopathy prides itself upon.
