Workplace Ergonomics

Osteopaths are qualified Workplace Ergonomics Assessors due to their deep understanding of biomechanics and knowledge of injury patterns that occur in the body.

Ergonomic assessments involve watching someone work, assessing and then optimising body position of the worker. Simple things like making appropriate adjustments to seat height and angles, desk height, monitor and keyboard/mouse positioning can make a huge difference in the strain put through the body over the course of a 40 hour work week.

Qualifications

In Australia, Osteopaths are statutorily registered practitioners and complete a five year, full-time university degree that includes a two-year Masters by research degree. They are trained in anatomy, physiology, pathology and general medical diagnosis in addition to Osteopathic technique.

All the osteopaths at Thornbury Village Osteopathy have a local referral network of GPs and radiology and imaging clinics.
